School activities : Societies

 

Young inventors club : Member since 1999 and President in 2004-2005

 

1. Organized the Inventors competition and participated in 1999.
2. Participate for National Science Equipment Competition in 2000 organized by Sri Lanka National Commission for UNESCO.
3. Participated in school Invention competition organized by Sri Lanka Inventors Commission in 2000.
4. Participated and  awarded in school Invention competition organized by Sri Lanka Inventors Commission in 2003.
5. Participated School Science and Inventions Exhibition organized by Sri Lanka Association for the Advancement of Science in 2003.
6. Participated and awarded for Junior Inventors of the year 2004, organized by The Institute of Engineers, Sri Lanka.
7. National award 2nd place winner in 2005 for the Invention activities in year 2003.
8. Elected to show-cast the Invention of "Developed Porto meter" in International Exhibition for Young Inventors 2005, held in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia. 



Photography Society : Member since 2001 and Secretary in 2004-2005



1. Provided the official photo coverage for the Kingswood week in 2004 which covered the Kingswood Sunday for religiousness activities, price giving, colors night and other activities in the whole week.
2. Organized the school photography competition and exhibition in 2004. 
3. Participated for other activities by providing photography coverage in school and other schools.



Videography Society : Member of core founders, vice secretary and editor in 2003-2005.



1. Provided the video and live screening coverage for Kingswood Science day in 2003 and 2004. 
2. Provided video coverage in special activities in school. 



Computer Society : Member since 2001 and Editor and Organizing director in 2003-2005 



1. Actively participated for the computer exhibition help in 2001. 
2. Organized the film festival in 2004 as fund arising project.
3. Organized the computer day and inter school quiz competition in 2005.

Youth Explorer's club : Member since 2001-2004



1. Organizing member of the "Eyes of nature" all island exploring campaign in 2001 at Hanthana.
2. Participated for the all Island exploring campaign of "Aura of Nature" 2003, organized by Kandy Girls' High School Kandy.
3. Participated for the all island exploring campaign of "Eco Challenge" 2003, organized by St. Sylvester's College Kandy.



Astronomical Society : Editor in 2004-2005 



1. Organized and participated the astronomical night and inter school quiz competition in 2005.



Science Association : Member and external activity organizer in 2003-2005.



1. Actively participated in science day organized in 2003 and 2004. worked as entertainment organizer in 2004.



School drama troop: Member and the actor of the Kingswood drama troop



1. Participated and member of the winning team of school drama team since 2003-2006.
2. Member and actor of the Kandy School Drama association.
